  • Install Tomcat 7.0.82 on CentOS 7 (Multiple Instances)

In the last post How to Install Tomcat 7.0.82 on CentOS 7? We have seen how we can install and configure Tomcat on CentOS.

But it might happen that we need to have more than one instance of Tomcat running on the same server in order to divide the application load.
Here we will see steps for installing multiple instances of Tomcat.

    Tomcat directory location :

Now we have our Tomcat 7 directory at /usr/local/tomcat7

    Step 1 : Edit catalina.sh Script

Now let's edit the catalina.sh script so that it would know the about catalina_home and catalina_base.

For safe practices first create backup of catalina.sh in /bin

    <p>&nbsp;#cd /usr/local/tomcat7/apache-tomcat-7.0.82/bin</p>
    <p>#cp -p catalina.sh /bin/catalina.sh.bkp</p>
