  • Using Multiple Java Versions On CentOS

    Here we will see how we can use more than one versions of Java in CentOS.

    In this post we will install Java8 and java 7 on CentOS and see how we can use them.
    Now the question is why we need 2 versions of Java? Sometimes we might have to run programs on different versions of java for performance testing or any other reasons.
    So let's see how we can work with two versions of Java on CentOS.

    Step 1 : Download Latest Java 8 Archive
     
    Download latest Java SE Development Kit 8 from its official download page or use following command to download it 

    <p>#cd /opt/</p>
